We transformed this neglected two-family apartment building into a beautiful four-bedroom, five-bath single family residence.
For this project we opened up the center exterior by converting the built-out section of the second floor into an airy open balcony.
Below the balcony, we created Spanish style arches over the main entrance, replacing the boxy sharp angles with graceful curves.
On the rear lower level windows were replaced with french doors opening onto wood decking. Climbing plants and succulents were planted along the garage wall. The existing metal gate was replaced with a more contemporary fence and gate.
And we added a swimming pool with jacuzzi!
The backyard was fairly small and little had been done to optimize its potential. More lawn area was created, planting beds were added along with other landscaping. We were able to salvage the existing terracotta while reconfiguring its footprint.
The large size of the garage provided enough additional space to create a pool house/family room with french doors opening onto the pool and jacuzzi.
As this was a full gut renovation, before and after photos were tricky to capture. But this little corner gives an idea of the vast change of aesthetic. This is the same corner pre and post transformation. To see more of the interior of this property click here
